The secret tools used by highly effective people

There is no one who knows secret tools for working from home better than my boss. She has taught me everything I need to know when it comes to remote working and for that, I thank her. She is a whiz when it comes to remote working and is a well sort after project manager. Below are some of the few tools that she has taught me and one or two that I have added myself. To start of;

1.Slack

undefinedFor a very competent tool that Slack is, I don’t understand why it was named after an adjective that characterises lack of work and activity. This is an amazing tool for team work, not only does it allow you to create tasks, interact with your team members, has a mail app and it also intergrates with all your other hardworking apps such as your google calendar, google drive, microsoft onedrive, Dropbox, Zoom, etc…This is pure genius for remote working and brings all your important apps in one place.

2. Zoomundefined

This is an awesome tool for remote working, it was designed with remote working in mind. And to use the words of digitaltrends.com

“you can say goodbye to Monday rush hour, corporate attire and mundane office environments. The video conferencing software allows you to go to work without leaving the comfort of your home. It’s a response to the latest trend in working styles–remote working.”

digitaltrends.com

Whether you are a blogger, a mompreneur, an entrepreneur, this is the app for you. It has everything from screen sharing, instant messaging, conference calling, etc. Absolute magic.

3. Teamviewer

This tool allows you to control your laptop or your team members’ from the comfort of your own home or when you have left your laptop. What I love about Teamviewer is that even when you are far from your workplace, it allows you to access your computer and also for those dull bulbs that need you to explain everything everytime, you can just access their laptops and show them remotely. Try it, its amazing

4. AgileCrm

This is a great tool for email and phone storage. Goes one better by having a marketing system that allows you to add prospective clients, follow up on buyers and records your sales. This is a great tool for the marketer who wants to have her customers on demand and do her follow ups without the office, as and when she pleases.

5. QuickBooks Online

Successful entrepreneurs cannot do a good job without a good accounting system. What better system than one that can upload your bank statements, update your sales and remove your payment and do all your reconciliations …all this online. You don’t need to be in an office to check how your company is doing, you can do it anywhere, anytime. I highly recommend this.

6. Genius Scan

I love love this app. This is the best app for keeping a paperless office, it allows you to scan any document, in any number via your phone or tablet. All your work moves with you, without the need to drop into the office for a document.

7. Dropbox

undefinedI think I last saved a document on my desktop many years back. Saving your work on the desktop makes you susceptible to any kind of danger that might befall your computer, virus attack, liquid damage, software errors, etc. Save your work on Dropbox and you never need to worry about forgetting the USB, computer or whatever drive that you use to store the documents on. Your work is always with you, as long as you have internet.

8. Whatsapp

I felt that this list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of whatsapp. Whatsapp is the simplest form of communication and also the easiest way to convey information to customers and employees. Business whatsapp groups have revolutionalised things, you can advertise any product via whatsapp, at the least cost and with the least hustle of all the above.
